If you are a regular reader you may have noticed that the banner ads on the right are gone. I signed up with an ad broker a few months back and thought it might be a nice way to generate a little cash to help cover hosting costs etc for YukonMac. If you’re not aware, most ad brokers automatically rotate in new ads and you have to “de-authorize” them but that can be a pain as they add new ones all of the time and even if you choose not to accept an ad from a certain vendor they get around it by using different names etc. The straw that broke the camel’s back was this morning after posting my OSX Tiger article I checked the site to make sure it looked good and there was this flash banner ad with this kung-foo/warrior guy screaming “Yah-Yah-Yah-Yah” and the banner was flashing and I’m like “no freakin way”. So I wondered how many of you have been getting the same - my apologies.

Anyway maybe someday YukonMac will evolve, and I hope it does, and traffic will be able to justify banner ads, but at my discretion. I will reconsider it at that time. Until then the crappy banner ads that feed of low traffic sites where the owner is just trying to make a few extra bucks can take a flying leap. For now its just good old Google AdSense ads and a banner or two to my e-com site TeamMASCOT.com. Hope you enjoy a more peaceful reading environment.
